CNC Roll Feeder Punching Machine For Stainless Steel Strip Components

The tools on this machine are static and do not move for any of the punching operations. The CNC roll feeder advances the coil strip by programmed amounts to position the strip at the correct position at each tool. Only one tool operates at a time but the operations are continuous as the computer controlled feeder advances the strip to a position according to the tool position required to punch. After all of the selected tools have completed their operation the strip is advanced to the last tool which crops off the finished component, which drops onto a skip conveyor. This particular machine is used to punch holes in stainless steel door Espagnolettes of 2 metre nominal lengths. The machine tooling also countersink holes on one side of the strip to suit fixing screws. When the last tool in the cycle operates - the component is finished and requires no further operations. At the beginning of the line and after the decoiler, an edge dresser removes all the sharp edges on strip which has arisen from the slitting line. The machine cycles at 60 strokes per minute so a hole is punched every second.
