The noticeable feature of this machine is the length - and the absence of support underneath the bed - which is nine metres in length. The machine punches up to 78 holes and slots in a roll formed
section used by a well known trailer manufacturer in North wales. The machine design is complicated by a number of factors. Various sizes and lengths of sections had to be catered for, some tools to be switched off,
some tools to mounted on sliding beds, and some to be switched off when not required at all. Because the sections are nine metres in length they had to be fed/pulled into the machine with grippers and clamps. When
the component has been punched it is mechanically ejected and fed through guides (not shown) so that the component can pass UNDER the machine - hence the lack of supports under the bed area.
