This machine shows a close up of tools on two levels to punch more complicated hole patterns in two stages on the machine. These are arranged with horizontal units on the lower deck to save space and
vertical units on the upper deck. Guards have been removed from the tool sides for a clearer view. The tools on the upper deck are adjustable along a tee slotted bed and the tools have base tenons to guide them in a
straight line. Note that the first two tools on the upper deck have blowplates attached to the hydraulic cylinder pistons and strike two or more punch heads grouped as required.
The corners of this extrusion were also cropped in the end tool
Adjustment of the tools on this machine are infinitely variable by setting to an inlaid precision steel rule and then clamped in position. For components that are produced in regular batches, location
templates can be made to position units and stops which removes any skill in setting the tools for repeated accuracy of components.
